Thing 5 – Flickr

Oh, this was SUPPOSED to be easy, I had used Flickr before. However, I haven’t used it since December last year and there has been some changes to the login since then. I was sent round and round to Yahoo, then Flickr and when I tried to merge my existing Flickr site I couldn’t remember my username and password. Finally I gave up and created a new Flicker account

I uploaded one picture from the Flickr page.

Thing 4 – Wikis

Still trying to catch upt – at least this one is easy , I have created and maintained a number of wikis that we use collaboratively with my colleagues. I used PBWiki because it was very easy to use and it is free. I will try to use something else next time, just for a bit of variety!!

Thing 3 – Podcasts

Uh! I have so much to catch up on. I have been busy and didn’t get a chance to keep up with the “Things”. Well, I have quickly gone throught the podcast tutorial, but I will need to come back to it in detail. I have been capturing author talks for our library, and have added them to our website, but I would like to now turn them into real podcasts – when I get the chance that is!!!! So much to do, so little time…..

Thing 2 – RSS

Finally I fully appreciate what RSS is able to do for me. I had a pretty good idea before – in theory, but I didn’t know how easy it is to set up and use. I have also been able to add it to my iGogle page which I use as my homepage, so I can see at one glance my email inbox, my RSS feeds, my library catalogue search box and more. I will just have to fine tune the RSS feeds I set up, so it will be easy to manage and still cover the information I want to know about.

Setting up the blog was fun. Now to think of some content….. That is harder. Hopefully it will get easier with time!
